Today, August 23, 2020, would have been our annual Homecoming Celebration. Instead, in this COVID-19 induced separation, we are worshipping online. On a day that would have been capped by a glorious dinner in our fellowship hall, instead we are eating our meal in solitude. Perhaps next year…
Our scriptures for today are Romans 12:1-8 and Matthew 16:13-20. When Jesus asks the question “Who do you say that I am?” he invites a response that connects us in our brokenness to God and his wholeness. Our identity is tied into the transformation that comes from being in Christ.
