This morning, we end this three part series on the General Rules of the Methodist Societies, Three Simple Rules: A Wesleyan Way of Living. This series is based upon the book with the same title by Bishop Reuben Job, a former editor of The Upper Room devotional. The rules are:
- Do no harm.
- Do good.
- Stay in love with God (or, I prefer, practice the spiritual disciplines).
This morning, we concentrate on the third rule: Stay in love with God. The combination of spiritual disciplines will resonate differently with each one of us at different times in our spiritual journey. Our goal is to grow closer to God so that God’s image in us, the Imago Dei, shines through.
