The message of Palm Sunday is that Jesus enters Jerusalem in a triumphant pageant with shouts of “Hosanna” at the beginning of the week where he will be arrested, tried, and crucified. The week the begins with shouts of acclamation ends with burial in a borrowed tomb. The purpose of this service celebrating Palm/Passion Sunday is to help us walk that journey with Jesus from ecstasy to betrayal and death. We do so through scripture and song.
Sometimes the preacher needs to step out of the way and let the scriptures speak. Unfortunately, we were unable to record the full breadth of the service. Therefore we provide a link to the bulletin so that you may explore this journey with us.
If you are located in the Rossville/Chattanooga area, you are invited to join us at McFarland on Thursday, March 28 for a Maundy Thursday service at 6:00 p.m., or on Friday, March 29, for a meditative Good Friday service – both services will be held in the Chapel. Enter through the Sanctuary door and go straight ahead into the Chapel. May you have a blessed Holy Week.
