Palm-Passion Sunday 2021

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the last week of Jesus’s life. We call it Holy Week. It begins with the triumphant entry into Jerusalem with shouts of “Hosana to the King!” But the situation soon sours as Jesus upends the norms of society. This is the week when he taught in the temple, shared a meal with his closest friends, demonstrated servanthood, and found himself betrayed, abandoned, and ultimately crucified by the authorities. Our service this morning on the 4th Sunday in Lent combines the Old Testament story about Moses and the complaining people and the story of Nicodemus and Jesus found in Chapter 3 of John’s Gospel.
