One of the perils of preparing sermon series in advance is that while you may stay within the scripture that you have chosen, the focus of your scripture may change. That is the case with our scripture this morning, 2 Timothy 3:14-4:5. My original intent was to focus on the folks with “itching ears” who would lean away from sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3-4). Rekindle the Gift
This morning we begin a new lectionary based sermon series, “Not Ashamed.” The scripture focus for the next four weeks is 2 Timothy. In the text this morning, 2 Timothy 1:1-14, Paul urges Timothy to “rekindle the gift of God that is in you” (v. 6). Join us as we explore what it means to rekindle the gift.
