Wayne Cook

Wayne has been in ministry in the United Methodist Church since 2006. He previously served Lookout Mountain UMC (2006-2008) and the Sand Mountain Circuit (Sand Mountain UMC, Rising Fawn UMC, and Wildwood UMC, 2008-2018). He was appointed to McFarland UMC in June 2018.

Wayne served as the Co-Chair of the Fellowship of Associate Members and Local Pastors of the Holston Annual Conference from 2016-2020 which placed him on the Executive Committee for the Holston Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. In the Scenic South District, Wayne is treasurer for the District Pastors Association, Chair of the District Finance Committee, and Facilitator of the Chattanooga Valley Mission Network which consists of McFarland, Simpson, St. Elmo, Flintstone, and Ft. Oglethorpe United Methodist Churches.

When Wayne isn’t wearing his pastoral ministry hat, he is a steam train fan. He is a member of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum and is looking forward to becoming a volunteer. Wayne is married to Charlene, a music teacher in the Hamilton County Schools. They have an adult daughter, Monica, who is living her dream as a theatrical stage manager on the East Coast.
