David Kammerdiener was born in Oklahoma and grew up in Houston, Texas. After college in Oklahoma he went to Uruguay, South America to serve in education and missionary work. In 1982 David went to the San Francisco Bay Area for seminary and additional graduate studies, and while in seminary he met and married Betsy Andrews whose family is from the Chattanooga area.
