*Online giving at McFarland United Methodist Church is quick and easy for you to accomplish. Online giving via Credit/Debit Card or ACH Bank Transfer is through our service provider, Tithe.ly. Tithe.ly utilizes the highest standard of data encryption to ensure that your giving details are protected.
You may give a one-time gift or you may set up an account that will allow you to track your gifts. You may also set up automatic recurring giving that allows you to give even when you are not present. With an account, you can also sign on at any time to download your giving record for the year and compare that giving to your pledge.
However you choose to give your online gift, your gift is credited to your account at the moment it is given. You will receive an email confirmation of your gift within moments after you give online. *Online giving does have a cost that is charged to the church. These costs are equivalent to the charges that a business expects to pay for access to payments by debit/credit card or through your bank account for goods and services. When you give online, you have the option of covering those fees. Should you choose to cover the fees, you will receive the full benefit of your gift plus the fee charged on your contribution record. Otherwise, the church will cover that cost as an expense of doing business, just like any other entity that accepts electronic payments. Of course, we advise you to consult with your own tax advisors to determine how these scenarios apply to your own tax situation.
