Hello McFarland! Pastor Wayne here!
What a wonderful start we had to Holy Week yesterday with our Palm/Passion Sunday service followed by our first church-wide covered dish dinner since the COVID-19 shutdowns. I’ve received plenty of positive feedback on the service, and, of course, there was plenty of food for the dinner in Fellowship Hall. I want to express my thanks to Louise Hodges, Ann Au, Edwina Gillespie, and Barbara Leonard for their leadership and hard work to prepare the kitchen and fellowship hall, and to everyone who brought food and helped with the preparations. As always, there was enough to feed an army and the fellowship together was a blessing. It was a good day.
You are invited to join us for a contemplative worship service on Good Friday, April 15, at 12:00 noon. We will meet in the Chapel for a time to remember Christ’s sacrifice in love for us.
On Easter Sunday, April 17, we celebrate the Resurrection of the Christ. We acknowledge that death does NOT have the final word, and we eagerly anticipate our participation in the coming kingdom of God. It is a time of celebration and anticipation. May it be a blessed time for all of us as we begin a new sermon series, “We are Witnesses.” This series will look at how we put our faith into action. Plan to join us in person on Sunday morning at 9:45 for Sunday School, 11:00 for worship, or online with the sermon posted usually by late afternoon.
As always, I am blessed to be your pastor. Call me if you need me!
