Happy to be Back

After a couple of weeks out of the pulpit, I want to thank the Reverend Al Bowles and Mike Feely for covering for me while I was on the leadership team of the Academy for Spiritual Formation at Emory and Henry College. The experience at Emory and Henry was powerfuly moving for me and refreshing to my call to ministry. Thank you for graciously receiving them and their messages to you. Who Are WE?

As I think about the troubles facing United Methodism, I am beginning to believe that we have forgotten who we are. A Franciscan Blessing

Several people asked me about a copy of the “Franciscan Blessing” that I used to close the service on February 10, 2019. As I stated, I am not sure of the origin of the blessing, nor do I know why it is especially considered “Franciscan.” But, it is a call for us to live into our faith. I share it below: A Franciscan Blessing May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships, so that…
